In Sweden, approximately one cookbook is published every day. The larger publishers produce around 30 cookbooks a year. Each. This ought to keep a sane person away from jumping into that pond.
In 2013 though, four friends teamed up to produce and publish the cookbook they felt was missing on the market. Photographer Alex Giacomini, award-winning chef Martin Andersson, sommelier and wine writer Anders Melldén and last but not least our creative director Peter Assarsson.
A year was spent travelling around meeting people who were committed to producing the best locally cultivated ingredients. We interviewed these driving spirits, produced beautiful images and put together recipes with their ingredients.
The result was the cookbook “Lite Dyrare Mycket Bättre Mat”, focusing on local food, letting people cook exactly what the book's title says: “Slightly more expensive but much better food”.
Oh, and there is a prize for the best designed cookbook each year in Sweden. Guess which book received this prize in competition with more than 300 other books?
